Eruption of the volcano sinabung north sumatra
More than 12,000 people have been evacuated since the volcano in Sumatra Sinabung woke up after 400 years of sleep. It erupted on Sunday in the northern Indonesian island, throwing smoke and ash over one kilometer and a half high. The area has therefore been placed on red alert.
Located on the "ring of fire" in the Pacific, Indonesia is prone to seismic and volcanic activity particularly intense.
